Case Analysis of Way finding Design for The Hub Marakez Park, North Coast, Egypt

I. Project Background

The Hub Marakez Park, a flagship cultural tourism complex developed by Egypt's real estate giant on the North Coast, spans 240 hectares and encompasses theme parks, beach resorts, commercial districts, and cultural centers. It aims to become a "new Egyptian cultural window along the Mediterranean," attracting global tourists and local family groups.

2. Analysis of Key Design Points

Three - Dimensional Signage at the Entrance

Visual Identity ability:Inspired by the ancient Egyptian myth of "Ra's Sun Chasing," the three-dimensional sign integrates the Solar Barque with wave curves. Its surface consists of gradient gilded stainless steel plates layered with transparent acrylic waves. It creates a "golden light leaping on waves" effect in daylight and a dynamic "starry boat night voyage" scene via built-in matrices at night, achieving 98% visibility from 1 km away.

Material and Craftsmanship: Weather-resistant stainless steel is used, processed through five-axis CNC cutting, eight-stage precision grinding, and seamless welding to ensure no rust or deformation outdoors for 20 years. The matte brushed finish and three-dimensional edge folding design create a solemn texture, conveying the park's high-end and reliable image as a cultural landmark.

3.Summary of Design Effects

The way finding design of Marakez Park takes "modern expression of ancient Egyptian mythology, intelligent traffic management, and Mediterranean climate resilience" as its core. Through the integrated design of three-dimensional signage, floor directional signs, way finding signs, and cabinet systems, it has created a cultural tourism way finding benchmark that integrates cultural immersion, technological interaction, and ecological sustainability. The project not only solves the circulation challenges of super-large parks but also redefines the "symbiotic model of historical and cultural IP with modern tourism experiences."
